September 2, 2017 - We are moving forward on the start date for concrete restoration of the building and balconies. There are options on the table that include replacing the metal railing with glass panels, a combination of replacing the metal railings with glass panels in the front of the balcony and metal railings on the sides, sand blasting and powder coating the existing railings or replacing the existing railings with new ones. At a meeting with Railings Plus, their agent explained the railing variables to the committee. As one would expect, the glass railing gives the building a modern look and increases the unitís esthetic value.
Railings Plus gave a detailed explanation of coating the aluminum railing. There would be a twenty (20) year warranty on the railing coating if the entire railing was replaced with new railings. The next step on the concrete restoration is to have feedback from the unit owners as to their choice. The railing choice notice will be sent to all unit owners in later this month.

There has been no downtime for our Maintenance Department. They have been busy completing the face lift of the Receiving Room. The entire room has been painted and new ceiling tiles have been installed. White cabinets were ordered from Home Depot and have replaced all of the old ones. The counter top was measured and a laminate top color selection was made. The top will be installed in two (2) weeks. Maintenance has been busy servicing all A/Cís that are on our A/C maintenance program. If you are not a resident that has selected this service, you should-- for peace of mind. Our Maintenance Department is very conscientious and does excellent work; if you would like the A/C service see Christine in the office. The cost is a bargain of a lifetime at $20 per quarter especially with the new pleated A/C filters that are now being installed.

By now everyone at Regency Tower should be somewhat familiar with Concierge Plus via our new website 1regencytower.com. Security staff are beta-testing the new package notification module. This software module, with an easy-to-use barcode scanner, will scan the barcode on the package, and then notify the recipient via email and by telephone that a package is at the lobby security desk for pick up. The phone number on package deliveries is (312) 275-6291 (Caller ID) a Chicago, Illinois number. We are now in the process of installing a display in the mail room that shows a package symbol with the unit number. When the unit owner receives the parcel, they will sign for the package using an electronic signature pad. The signature will be memorialized on the computer hard drive. The schedule of amenities is now noted on the website. You can view the days that the barbeque, Rendezvous room and the service elevator are reserved, and schedule your event accordingly.

Another reminder!! We need your help on the bicycle registration. Many bikes that are in the bike rack storage area need identification tags. If you have a bike stored in this area and it is not registered with a tag, please contact the office ASAP. Unregistered bikes will eventually be donated.

Richie Dipacio, one of our security personnel, is retiring. Richie has been employed at Regency Tower since February 2016. We wish him well on his retirement and would welcome him back if he decides that retirement is not his cup of tea.
